Rippling MFA Setup – Driver Quick Guide (Authy)
Why you’re seeing this
We’re adding extra login security to Rippling to protect:
- Your paycheck
- Your banking information
- Your personal HR data
Even if someone gets your password, they cannot log in without your phone.
Step 1: Download Authy (one-time setup)
- Open the Authy app.
- Enter your phone number.
- Enter the verification code Authy sends you.
This only happens once.
Step 2: Start setup in Rippling
- Log in to Rippling.
- Rippling will show you:
- A QR code
- A long setup code (letters and numbers)
IMPORTANT: Use the long setup code.
Do NOT scan the QR code unless IT tells you to.
Step 3: Add Rippling to Authy (most important step)
- Open Authy.
- Tap Add Account or the + button.
- Choose Enter key manually.
When Authy asks for details
- Account Name: Rippling (label only)
- Key / Code: Paste the long setup code from Rippling
- Logo: Generic or leave as-is (logo does not matter)
Tap Save. You should now see Rippling with a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds.
Step 4: Logging in to Rippling (every time)
- Enter your Rippling username and password.
- When asked for a code, open Authy.
- Tap Rippling.
- Enter the 6-digit code into Rippling.
Tip: Open Authy first, then return to Rippling.
Common issues (easy fixes)
Code not working?
- Make sure your phone’s date & time are set automatically.
- iPhone: Settings → General → Date & Time → Set Automatically
- Android: Settings → Date & Time → Automatic
Added Rippling before?
- Delete the old Rippling entry in Authy.
- Start over using the new setup code.
New phone or lost phone?
Authy can restore your codes when installed on a new phone.
