1. Introduction and Scope

Altom Transport, Inc. (“Altom,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit or use https://altomtransport.com (the “Website”) or otherwise interact with us online. It also serves as our notice at collection for California residents and explains the privacy rights you may have under applicable law and how to exercise them.

This Policy applies to information collected through the Website. It does not apply to information collected offline, through other channels, or by third-party websites linked from the Website. Our affiliated companies (Al Warren Oil Company, Inc., Excel Oil Service, and Excel Environmental Services) maintain their own privacy policies for their respective websites.

By using the Website after having an opportunity to review this Policy and our cookie consent tools, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.

2. Personal Information We Collect (Notice at Collection)

Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact and quote forms. When you submit our contact or quote request form, we collect your name, company, email address, telephone number, the contents of your message, and your newsletter sign-up preference.
  • Careers and employment applications. When you apply for a position or request information through our Careers page, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, contact information, work history, and qualifications, including CDL and driving-related information relevant to the position.
  • Employee account registration. When current employees register for or log in to the employee portal, we collect name, email address, username, password, and terminal information. Portal use is limited to Altom personnel.
  • Chat communications. If you use the live chat feature, we collect the contents of your chat and related information as described in Section 4.
  • Email sign-ups. If you opt in to Altom news and announcements, we collect your email address and contact preferences.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and usage data. When you visit the Website, we and our service providers may automatically collect device and usage information, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version and user-agent string, device type and operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, links clicked, the dates and times of your visits, and time spent on pages. Some of this information (such as IP addresses and routing or header data) is transmitted automatically by your browser as part of how the internet works.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 4 below. Non-essential cookies and third-party tracking technologies operate only in accordance with the consent choices described in that section.

Categories of Personal Information (California)

For purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), the information described above falls into the following categories:

  • Identifiers (name, email address, telephone number, IP address, online identifiers);
  • Commercial information (products and services considered or requested);
  • Internet or other electronic network activity information (browsing and interaction data, chat activity);
  • Professional or employment-related information (careers submissions); and
  • Inferences are not knowingly drawn for profiling purposes.

We do not seek to collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers submitted outside a formal employment application, financial account credentials, precise geolocation, or health information) through the Website, and we ask that you not submit such information through web forms or chat.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries, quote requests, and chat conversations;
  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Website and our services;
  • Process and evaluate employment applications;
  • Administer employee portal accounts;
  • Send communications you have requested, such as news and announcements (where you have opted in), which you may opt out of at any time;
  • Analyze Website usage and performance and, with your consent, measure advertising;
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Website, prevent fraud and spam, and enforce our terms; and
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and insurance obligations.

We do not use personal information collected through the Website for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Cookies, Analytics, Advertising Technologies, and Chat

Cookie Consent

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. When you first visit the Website, a consent banner allows you to accept, decline, or manage cookies by category before non-essential cookies are set. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because they are essential for the Website to function. Functional, performance, analytics, and advertising cookies — and the third-party scripts associated with them — are configured not to run until you make an affirmative consent choice, and you may change or withdraw your consent at any time through the “Cookie Settings” link on the Website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Website (for example, number of visitors, traffic sources, and pages visited). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, device information, and browsing activity on the Website. Advertising Technologies

Where enabled, the Website uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and the Google Ads conversion tag. These technologies collect identifiers and internet activity information (such as pages viewed, buttons clicked, IP address, and browser information) and transmit it to Meta and Google to measure advertising performance and, depending on configuration, to support interest-based advertising. These advertising technologies are loaded only if you consent to advertising cookies through the cookie banner, and you may withdraw consent at any time. See Sections 5 and 6 for what this means under California law and how to opt out.

Chat Feature

The Website offers a live chat feature operated on our behalf by LiveChat, Inc., a third-party service provider. If you choose to use the chat, the contents of your chat conversation, typing activity, and associated technical information (such as your IP address, browser information, and the page you are visiting) are transmitted to, processed by, and stored with LiveChat in order to provide the chat service. Chat transcripts may be retained so that we can respond to your inquiry and maintain records of customer communications. By initiating a chat session, you consent to this processing and to the recording and retention of your chat communications by us and by LiveChat as our service provider. Please do not submit sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or health information) through the chat. Managing Your Choices

You can manage cookies at any time through the “Cookie Settings” link on the Website and through your browser settings, which allow you to refuse or delete cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can manage how Meta uses information about you through your Facebook ad preferences at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences, and how Google personalizes ads at https://adssettings.google.com. If you disable cookies, some features may not function properly.

5. How We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. However, under California law, the use of the third-party advertising and analytics technologies described in Section 4 may be considered “sharing” of personal information (specifically, identifiers and internet or network activity information) for cross-context behavioral advertising. To the extent this occurs, the categories shared in the preceding 12 months are identifiers and internet activity data, shared with advertising and analytics partners (Google and Meta). You have the right to opt out of this sharing at any time as described in Section 6, and these technologies do not operate until you have consented under Section 4. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

We disclose personal information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including our website developer and administrator (DIESELHAUS), website hosting providers, analytics providers (Google), consent management providers, form and anti-spam/CAPTCHA providers, our chat service provider (LiveChat, Inc.), and email service providers. These providers are contractually permitted to use personal information only to perform services for us.
  • Advertising partners. As described above, identifiers and internet activity information may be transmitted to Meta and Google when you consent to advertising cookies. These partners’ use of that information is described in their own privacy policies.
  • We may share information among our affiliated companies, including Al Warren Oil Company, Inc., Excel Oil Service, and Excel Environmental Services, for the purposes described in this Policy.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our employees, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our business or assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Your Privacy Choices

  • Opt out of sharing / targeted advertising. You may opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising at any time by (a) declining or withdrawing consent to advertising cookies through the “Cookie Settings” link on the Website, or (b) contacting us as described in Section 14. We also honor opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal, as required by applicable law: when we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of sharing for that browser.
  • Email communications. If you have opted in to marketing or news emails, you may unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email or by contacting us.
  • Cookies and tracking. See Section 4 for cookie, analytics, advertising, and chat controls.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including responding to your inquiry, considering your application for employment, satisfying legal, regulatory, insurance, accounting, or reporting requirements, and resolving disputes. Chat transcripts and form submissions are retained in accordance with our records retention practices. When personal information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.

8. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction, including transmitting form submissions over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required by applicable law.

9. Your State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights under applicable privacy laws, including the CCPA/CPRA and similar laws in states such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others:

  • Right to know / access. Request confirmation of whether we process your personal information and access to the personal information we hold about you, including the categories collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed.
  • Right to correct. Request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to delete. Request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to data portability. Request a copy of your personal information in a portable and readily usable format.
  • Right to opt out. Opt out of the sale of personal information, the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and targeted advertising, as described in Section 6.
  • Right to limit sensitive personal information. Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We use any sensitive personal information we collect only for the limited purposes permitted by law (such as providing requested services and preventing fraud), so no separate right-to-limit request is required.
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights, such as by denying services or charging different prices.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 14 below. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 45 days, with a possible extension). You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent’s authority and verification of your identity.

If we decline to take action on your request, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response and stating that you wish to appeal. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General to submit a complaint.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Website is intended for a general business audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age required by applicable law), and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us using the information below.

11. Third-Party Websites and Embedded Content

The Website may contain links to, or embedded content (such as videos or maps) from, third-party websites and services, including our social media pages on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. These third parties may collect data about you, use their own cookies, and monitor your interaction with their content. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

12. Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Because there is no industry standard for responding to browser “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals, the Website does not respond to DNT signals. However, as described in Section 6, we do recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as required by California law.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and post the updated Policy on the Website. Material changes will be conspicuously noted. We encourage you to review this page periodically. We will not reduce your rights under this Policy without providing notice as required by law.
