Do You Qualify?

Altom Transport hires safety-focused, experienced drivers operating late-model equipment that meets our inspection standards. Please confirm you meet these requirements before applying:

Required

• Valid CDL Class A License
• Tanker (N) Endorsement
• At least 23 years of age
• Minimum 1 year verifiable tanker experience (2 years in last 5 preferred)
• Own your tractor (late-model, meets Altom inspection standards)
• Pump installed for off-loading product
• Clean MVR and strong safety record
• No DUI/OWI in last 5 years
• Not prohibited in FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• No at-fault/preventable fatal or rollover accident in last 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in last 3 years
• Able to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check

Preferred (Assistance Available)

• Hazmat (H) Endorsement — must obtain within 90 days of hire
• TWIC Card — or willing to obtain after hire
• X Endorsement (combined Tanker + Hazmat)
• 2+ years liquid bulk transport experience

Altom pays Owner Operators 68% of gross freight revenue plus 100% of fuel surcharge on every load. Typical annual earnings range from $250,000 to $300,000, with top-performing drivers earning $350,000 or more. All pay is direct-deposited weekly.

Do I need a Hazmat endorsement to start?

No. You need a Class A CDL with Tanker (N) endorsement to start. Hazmat (H) endorsement is preferred but you may obtain it within 90 days of hire — and Altom provides assistance.

What kind of freight does Altom haul?

How much home time will I get?

It depends on your chosen lane. Regional Owner Operators are home every 3–5 days. OTR drivers are out 7+ days at a time. You choose the lane that fits your life.

Do I need to own my truck, or do you offer lease-purchase?

Owner Operators bring their own tractor, which must be late-model and meet Altom’s inspection standards (including pump for off-loading). We also offer a lease-purchase program for qualified drivers who want to own.
